Integrated Math I [The Mathematics of Sports I, II] - 2508

Grades 9-12

Two Trimesters

This elective course is designed to meet the interests of everyone from the avid sports fan to the most fine-tuned athlete. Part one of the course will focus on many of the math-based concepts in baseball, softball, football, soccer, basketball, and volleyball. The second term of the course will focus on the Olympics, bowling, rowing, golf, track and field, and tennis. By the end of the course students will have enough knowledge to read and analyze the sports page, volunteer as a scorekeeper, and potentially pursue a career in a sports related field. Students can take one term or both terms of this course. Elective course does not count toward the required math credits for graduation.
