Introduction/Narrative Speech Criteria:

Prompt: First Impressions are lasting. And this speech will be the impression that you will leave with the audience. You are to introduce yourself to us in a creative and interesting way that gives us an idea who you are and where you are coming from. A difficult task indeed.

Start by telling us your name, perhaps your age and any other information that you think helps to describe you better. You may even want to start with an anecdote or joke to get our attention.

Next, think of a memory or experience that has helped to define you as a person. This will be the main body of your speech. For example, I would probably talk about my name and "name identity" and how no one can spell it correctly. EX. See broken stick pins and key chains with the wrong name in it.

Don’t just end your speech with "well, that’s about all…" or "OK..." end strong. You want the class to remember who you are. How can you do that with this conclusion?
