Listed below are some ideas of
possible projects to do over the novel. We will give you a little
time to work in class, but it is your responsibility to
take this project seriously and work outside of class. We
expect quality work. You may use your notes, study guides, the
novel, the movie, and our discussions for ideas. We will be glad
to help you as much as we can. Ultimately, though, this is
your assignment. Good luck!
The projects are due ________________Friday, Sept. 20, 2004____________
- Weve read (or will read)
Jeffersons diary. Write a diary from Miss Emma,
Vivian, or Tante Lous perspective. What issues
would trouble the women? What would they try to do? What
would their daily life be like? Use your imagination to
get inside their minds and thoughts. The entries could
continue after Jeffersons death.
- Your diary needs to have
at least seven entries.
- The diary could be
handwritten or typed.
- Make some type of cover
for the diary.
- Write a series of at least
three poems from the perspectives of Miss Emma,
Tante Lou, the Sheriff, Jefferson, Vivian, or Grant. What
are their personalities and beliefs? What are their hopes
and dreams? Remember, poems dont have to rhyme!
- Your poems must be
typed.
- Poems should be at least
10 lines each.
- You are Jeffersons defense
attorney. What would you have said to have him found not
guilty? Come up with a defense you think would work.
- The written defense
should be at least two typed pages.
- Along with the defense
you could create a poster illustrating your main
points.
- Your defense should be significantly
different than the defense
attorneys argument in the book.
