FRIDAY, Aug. 24:  YEA!! My webpage is back on!  Still, if you missed anything in your own note-taking, please go back and read what I’ve been putting on the American Studies HD page. Regular students do not have to do p. 261 in the Interactive Reader, nor do they have to do vocabulary with “Straw into Gold” (p. 334, I believe). They also don’t need to answer question #5 on p. 31 of the American Literature book (the big book).

HOWEVER, any regular student who wishes to do HD work, may earn bonus points by doing so (up to 20 points each grading period are available for this credit; these points may be earned in a variety of ways, but must be earned at least 5 days before the grading period ends).

You rec’d a copy of THE RED HEART. Please read the Prologue, and you may begin on or finish up to p. 34 (chapter 1). You will have study and vocabulary guides/work on Monday, 8/27.

You are reminded to take your BIG BOOK home today or on Monday if you didn’t write answers to the assigned questions on p. 31. They are due, without fail, on TUESDAY, Aug. 28.

Monday, Aug. 27:

 Please see the AMERICAN STUDIES HD page. The day after your Labor Day holiday, Sept.4, we will review for the TEST over our book (chapters 1-5). This  change for the test date will give you more time to read all of PART I of THE RED HEART (up through p. 150). You will NOT have the same test as the HD students.

Until otherwise notified, please refer to the American Studies HD page for your assignments and summaries of the work of class while we are working on our novel.

BECAUSE we are working now on similar projects, your assignments are all being put on the HD website. Check there for reading assignments in RED HEART, too.
