:: Bloomington Transit [8/31] Bloomington Transit will be outside the Cafeteria Tuesday, August 31 thru Friday, September 3 to sign students up for free Student Reduced Fare ID cards. This card allows students to ride Bloomington Transit buses for half price. Without the ID they will be required to pay full price.
:: Picture Day [9/1] Students, faculty and staff: please mark Wednesday, September 1 on your calendar. This is the day for all faculty, staff and underclassman to have school and id card pictures taken. Look for more information this Wednesday in SRT. Seniors who still need yearbook pictures taken, our photographer will be here in the afternoon and evenings the week of September 28th. You will receive information and an appointment time in the mail soon.
:: Hoosiers Outrun Cancer [9/18] Hey Panthers! Now is your chance to be a part of something HUGE! Join your fellow Panthers on the South team for the September 18 Hoosiers Outrun Cancer relay and walk. You can register on-line or here at school in the Cafeteria starting Friday, September 3 through September 10. Anyone interested in helping with registration, please see Mrs. Walls or sign up in the Main Office.

:: Afterschool Tutoring - The Library will be open after school for tutoring on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. PACE will start provided transportation next week.
:: Shoup shirts - There are still Shoup shirts for sale in the Bookstore for $10.00 each. All proceeds will go to the Shoup family.
:: Reminder: Students, during lunch, all food must be kept in the Cafeteria. You may go outside after you eat but food and drink must stay in the Cafeteria.
:: WS parking spaces - Students are reminded that parking spaces labeled “WS” are for Work Study only. Students who park in these spots will be ticketed.
:: September SAT Prep course [9/8] Juniors and seniors interested in taking the evening/weekend September SAT Prep course. Registration is taking place now. Registrations are due September 8 and may be picked up outside A303 and in the Counseling Office.

ACTIVITIES

:: Diversity Club [9/1] Wednesday, September 1, Diversity Club is having its first meeting in A240. This will be an informational meeting so anyone who is interested, please come. You do not have to be diverse! There will be food!
:: Senior Advisory Board [9/1] For all seniors who are interested in being on Senior Advisory Board, there will be a meeting Wednesday, September 1, during SRT. We will be meeting in the Cafeteria to discuss this year.
:: AMIGOS [9/1] The AMIGOS Club welcomes anyone interested in learning or experiencing Latin culture to come to our first meeting of the year on Wednesday, September 1 in A106 during SRT. You must get a pass from Mrs. Ansari in A106 in order to attend this meeting.
:: Bloomington Swim Club [9/1] Bloomington Swim Club is having a registration for anyone interested in swimming this year at BHS South on September 1 from 6-8 P.M. For more information look us up on our website.
:: Young Democrats Club [9/2] The Young Democrats Club will meet Thursday, September 2 in A275 in the Counseling Office. New members are encouraged to attend to help make a difference locally and globally.
:: Backpacking Cub [9/11] The Backpacking Cub will take a canoe trip on Saturday, September 11. If you can paddle a canoe, or even if you can’t, join us for a day of fun! An informational meeting will be Thursday, September 2 after school in A333. See Mr. Bobay or Ms. Kvale if you are interested but cannot attend.
:: Cutters Soccer Club - If you are under 16 and would like to play soccer for the Cutters Soccer Club, they now have a U16 program. For more information, go to cutterssoccer.org.

:: Wrestling [9/1] Anyone interested in Wrestling: There will be a brief sign up and general season information meeting Wednesday, September 1 from 2:45 – 3:15 P.M. in the Wrestling Room.
:: Wrestling [9/2] There will be a parent meeting for all who are wrestling in the Cafeteria, September 2 at 6:30 P.M.
:: Girls Basketball [9/14] Any girl interested in trying out for basketball this year can pick up an open gym schedule from Coach Winters in the Athletic Office. Open gym begins September 14.

:: Indiana University [11/1] Seniors: If you plan to apply to IU please do so no later than November 1! IU just announced that in order to be considered for scholarships you must apply no later than November 1. All application materials for admission must be submitted online or postmarked by November 1 for scholarship consideration.
:: Wells Scholar Program [9/13] SENIORS: Do you plan to apply to IU? If you do, and you are in the top 5% of the class with an average combined Critical Reading and Math SAT score of 1430, or higher with several extracurricular and leadership activities you may want to consider applying for the very prestigious Wells Scholar Program. Deadline to submit application is September 13. Please see Mrs. Krise in the Counseling Office if interested.
:: Indiana University ACP Program - Any student in the Indiana University ACP Program should make sure they have registered online. This includes students taking W131 or the Finite Mathematics course. If you are unsure, you should go online to check. If you have questions, see your counselor or your ACP Instructor.
:: Monroe County College Fair [9/28] The Monroe County College Fair will be held Tuesday, Sept. 28th at the Bloomington Convention Center from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Approximately 60 colleges are expected to attend.
